It gets better...

Those are my three favorite words after “I love you” and “let's get food”. I love hearing those words because they offer something intangible, they offer hope and an insight into the future. Now, today’s piece is about three things, being forgiving, honest and responsible. Three things are essential in coming to terms with things. . Whether it's a problem you're currently dealing with, or just values that you wanna think about. It's 
1. Being Forgiving. 
Everyone makes mistakes. It's a fact. Some people commit them
By accident, some on purpose. I like to think that people who are aware of what they're doing, but do it anyways, are not only selfish, but pitiful. These people are missing so much in their lives that they've resorted to hurting others. I'm not saying I don't have gaping holes in my life I need to fill, because I do. We have all hurt someone tremendously, whether by intent or accident. We have all loved someone tremendously, whether by intent or accident. It is an intrinsic human trait, and a deep responsibility, I think, to be an organ and a blade. But, learning to forgive ourselves and others because we have not chosen wisely is what makes us most human. We make horrible mistakes. It’s how we learn. We breathe love. It’s how we learn. And it is inevitable. 

2. Staying honest. 
Being true to oneself is something we struggle with at any given point in our lives. It's really not as easy as “being yourself” it's tough especially when society and everything else has molded you into something you can barely recognize. Take a step back and re-asses things. 
There’s this piece of advice I always hand over to my friends (it's not everything, but it's a start.) "It's never wrong to put yourself first, don't force yourself to be okay with your current reality, when you really aren't. It's a horrible thing to be a liar. Even worse when you're lying to yourself." 
Start by not being okay with the things you aren't okay with. Start by being honest to yourself and not compromising the truth for whatever is less. 

3. Being responsible. 
Take responsibility for your actions. Whether it affects just you or other people. OWN UP TO IT. You made the conscious choice to do what you did, so be responsible for it. You could be either the organ or the blade, but admit when you are hurt and allow yourself to recover. Or if you were the blade, know how you hurt the person and be truly sorry. Learn. 


Whether you're struggling with being forgiving, honest, responsible or all three. Trust me, it gets better. It always gets better,
